Kleos Mastiha is Greece's first luxury spirit brand, created by the only female distiller in Greece. The raw ingredient, Mastiha, is a sap from the Skinos tree that grows in only 24 villages in the Southern part of the island of Chios. Mastiha is known as the 'diamond of spices' because of its rarity, and also the ancient world's 'super ingredient' due to its variety healing properties.

Mastiha is made by hand in small batches via distillation of the rare Mastiha 'tears' and the addition of Mastiha essential oils.

From ancient history to contemporary consumption... Mastiha is an aromatic sap from a tree indigenous to the volcanic island of Chios 

Officially named PDO (protected designation of origin) ingredient by the EU Mastiha, the sap, was the worlds first chewing gum. 

First referenced in history by Herodotus in 500 B.C. First prescribed for medicinal purposes by Hippocrates, the father of medicine. known in the ancient world as a 'super ingredient', noted for its antibacterial, anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties.
