Santos Dumont XO “Palmira” is a warm and wonderful indulgence. ThThe golden drops are produced in honour of the historic philanthropist Albert Santos Dumont (20 July 1873 – 23 July 1932), a world-renowned aviation pioneer, nobleman, and icon of style. He was the heir of a wealthy family known as the coffee kings of Brazil. Rum and cachaça were distilled from the sugar cane grown on the plantation. Santos Dumont XO “Palmira” is a “rhum traditionelle” rum-based spirit – a traditional blend made from cane juice instead of molasses. Conventional rums are categorised in either English, Spanish, or French. This is neither. While the traditional rums made in Brazil are cachaça, our Santos Dumont blend
is in a category of its own. The golden drops are aged in barrels that have previously shaped sweet wines and rounded of by the fifine distillates we usually know from the Santos Dumont line. ThThe blend is matured in the best barrels and becomes saturated with sweetness, mild tannins, and precious oak. When poured into a glass, the golden Santos
Dumont XO “Palmira” glows like polished vintage wood. The general impression is mild when the full-bodied dram caresses the palette. Santos Dumont XO “Palmira” exhibits a wealth of complex flavours and a beautiful diversity originating from the distinguished blend and the bold oak.

Nose: Aromas: Apricot, toasted marshmellows and sweet tobacco, with a touch of honey and ripe fruit

Taste: Matured sweet oak, Soft and gentle, with a smooth complexity. Tropical fruits, sultanas together with noble rot from the sweet vine maturation.

Finish: Deep Finish, Sweet tannins with salty beachwood smothered with caramelized honey. Light finish, with elegantly integrated dried tannins combined with leather and tobacco
